UCLA student launches drive for hygiene products for homeless women
March 10, 2015
UCLA student Janelle Cohen recently launched a drive to collect feminine hygiene products for homeless women living in LA shelters. The drive is called We Care and in its second week has already raised over $500. Cohen's goal is to collect enough in donations, be they in feminine care products or monetary, to supply 420 women with a 6-month supply of tampons and pads. It is important to remember that there are needs beyond food and housing that are often forgotten. For women, especially, it can be difficult to to access these items when they are in a transitional process. We encourage you all to take a moment to check out the crowdfunding page for We Care: We Care GoFundMe. For more on Janelle Cohen and her project, please check out this feature on the DailyBruin.com.
