Arnold Abbott continues work with homeless despite arrest

A few weeks ago we brought you the story of 90 year-old Florida resident Arnold Abbott who was arrested after violating a law that restricts how the homeless can be fed in the state. Despite his arrest, Abbott has continued his mission of providing meals to the homeless of Fort Lauderdale, even facing repeat citations.
The story brought about conversation on why anti-feeding policies are in place and whether or not they are at all effectual. Many believe that feeding programs enable the homeless to stay in a cycle of dependency on public services. The truth is limiting or banning these types of services only aims to drive out homeless individuals and does nothing to actually affect any change.
