WHO WE ARE
FeedLA is a Los Angeles based non-profit organization aiming to alleviate homelessness through fundraising events; including music, arts and fashion. The organization intends to raise money for charities that focus their efforts on providing support for homeless individuals and families.
WHAT WE DO
FeedLA launched its inaugural campaign in November 2014, a concert series known as MusicFeedsLA hosted at The Satellite in Silver Lake. The series raised money for local homeless services organization PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) to aid them in their mission to end homelessness. Later in the year, FeedLA will continue its partnership with PATH with monthly volunteer cooking events for the residents of their central LA housing development. FeedLA's long term goal is to open a facility for the homeless that wlll provide warm beds, showers, food, and clothing, while connecting residents with education, mentoring and health care.
HOW WE CAME TO BE
HOW WE CAME TO BE
Founder Sean Sandoval launched FeedLA in October 2014 out of a vision to combine his biggest passions: live music and helping those living on the streets of Los Angeles. He established the organization not only to provide assistance to those without access to food and shelter but also to inspire the hopeless to turn their life around as he did.
Sean grew up with little means and many challenges, being nearly forced into homelessness himself but instead deciding to pursue a path that would lead him toward a better life. What began as being witness to a simple act of human kindness -- a group of friends making bagged lunches and handing them out to homeless -- has transformed into recruiting like-minded friends in an effort to help create opportunities and foster hope for homeless individuals in Los Angeles.
Sean, who has been working as a freelance production manager across Hollywood for 8 years, introduced FeedLA's first project MusicFeedsLA, a music concert series to raise funds for homeless programs, currently at The Satellite in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.
